WOD Friday 091218

Main Site Rest Day

Class WOD

"Jackie"

1000 Metre Row
50 Thrusters (45lb bar)
30 Pull Ups

Here we go! Our first names on the CrossFit Cambridge Leaderboard!

So for the class we will have more chances to fill the leaderboard with a bench mark girl workout AND a 1000M row time.

If you're not in the classes and want your name on the leaderboard all you have to do is post on the website or inform me somehow. I will be accepting times/weights for any workout completed in the past 2 weeks. Anything before that will not be accepted to go up on the board.

Here's a photo of the leaderboard rules.

Great job so far everyone!

great to see the Gang-i sucked tonight-even though i got my Deadlift PR (i think i did 255 before but maybe it was 265 so maybe tonight was not a PR so i do suck!!)

but back squat sucked big time because basically i cant squat for squat-well at least not with weight on my shoulder!!

Backsquat: 1759doesnt count as not below parallel), Deadlift: 260 Shoulder press: 95

If i could only be the POWERHOUSE that Ron and Danielle are becoming--

Have a safe and happy holiday to everyone in my Crossfit Family and Thanks for a great year to our Coach Chad!!

See you all soon-i'll miss ya all!

Congrats to Danielle and Ron for accomplishing not one but three PR's in the same night. I know who will be doing ALL the heavy lifting around our house from this point forward. Way to go 'guys'!!!!!!!!!!

OPT's Blog - Day 21 Training:
7 rounds for time:
7 unbroken hang squat clean
7 unbroken HSPU
(the HSC weight starts at 95#/55#; you add 10# per round, i.e. 95 1st round, 105 2nd round...; the HSPU are thumbs under shoulders); unbroken means when you pick it up off the floor, it cannot touch the floor again until all 7 reps are done

Rx'd 17:28. Interesting wod, never done one that had to be unbroken. HSPU were tough with the thumbs under shoulders.

To get you name on the board, does form count for things like deadlift?

December 18, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterthall2k

Form does not count. However range of motion does. If you have no round/slight round/giant round and lift 500lbs on your deadlift and it starts on the floor and goes to full lock out with full extension then it counts.

At the same time...we should all be smart about this and realize that we want good form.

So long as the range of motion is there then it counts.

So the round/ slight round ... is refering to the lumbar curve? I thought that was form.

December 18, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterthall2k

Yeah a round in your lumbar back is in reference to form. Sorry maybe that was confusing.

If your form is shit (awful lumbar curve, up on your toes, bar away from body, low chest, reverse curling the bar on a clean, etc.) the lift still counts for the board.

Form can be as brutal as it wants to be, range of motion MUST be there though.

BUT again great form and technique is ideal and you will benefit from it (no injuries, etc.)
